A project to develop, understand and improve education for American Indian and Alaska Native children and adults

Who created it?

The Eric Clearinghouse on Rural Education and Small Schools  has created this site as a special project to assist individuals and organizations engaged in research and development to better understand and improve education for American Indian and Alaska Native children and adults. ERIC/CRESS is hosted by AEL. (Charleston, WV).

Who funded it? Funding and staff support have been provided by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Indian Education and the Institute of Education Sciences.

What’s next? In the coming months, look for your colleagues’ conference papers, specially developed Eric Digests, (written in response to questions raised in the research agenda-setting meetings), seminal R&D reports (in full text) and solid leads to datasets and fundling opportunities. We will build this collection, beginning in the last quarter of 2001, and will continue to add to it in subsequent months and years, so visit often!
